A Cub enjoys his victory lap after hitting a home run. Almost the entire crowd was on their feet cheering. That must be an amazing experience: thousands of people watching and cheering at something you did. The closest I’ve come to that is marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Today was kind of cool though. I was substitute teaching today and was filling in for a teacher during one of my planning periods. When the teacher came who was going to take that class for the rest of the day came, I packed up my things and started heading to my next class. But before I could go, several students said bye, that I was a great sub, and that they would tell the faculty that I was one of the best subs.
I didn’t even teach anything that period; I was basically supervising as they worked on a test on a computer. It may not be home run in front of a sold out crowd, but it still made me feel kind of good. Teachers have a tough job, and it keeps getting harder.
I hope everyone has a good day today.
